Fresh reports suggest that the next version of iOS will get a few extra social networks built-in. It was rumoured this morning that photo and video sharing services Flickr and Vimeo will be packed into iOS 7. The addition of the two services is likely to mimic the way that iOS currently handles Twitter and Facebook, which have both been added over the last few years. The report claims that you’ll be able to sign into Flickr and Vimeo in iOS’ Settings app. Once signed in, …read more »

However this practice has since stopped over the previous weekend. A reader of their website brought the situation to the German news site’s attention when he noticed that urls sent to his colleagues over Skype were contacted by an IP address from Redmond, Microsoft’s headquarters. Graphic: http://www.infosniper.net/ Heise.de simulated the same situation and found identical results.
Social media has really exploded in the past few years. There any now so many different platforms that people have too much choice. Some people might remember that before Facebook there was Bebo however – but if you were to turn to the streets today I am convinced that hardly anyone would be aware of what Bebo is and what its purpose is. One of the other downsides of there being such a plethora of social media platforms is that people’s details are spread …read more »

In a post titled “@yahoo delivers #bestoftheweb,” Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer said users will see “relevant and personalized Tweets alongside stories from Yahoo! and other sources.” Soon, the users will be able to follow tweet sources by clicking on the “Follow” button displayed in the tweets. A screenshot of Yahoo’s interface with a tweet in the News stream …read more »

Yahoo has expressed a desire to attract younger people – more user-generated content of the likes pioneered by Tumblr will go someway to achieving that.
The Windows Phone has overtaken BlackBerry in the smart phone sales war. But as Windows Phone sales double, the latest figures reveal that Android still dominates. BlackBerry’s share of the smart phone market dropped by a third to 2.9 per cent, allowing Windows Phone to slide into third place after doubling sales from this time last year. The new lineup of BlackBerry 10 phones, beginning with the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10, has clearly yet to capture the public imagination – but perhaps that’ll change with the budget-friendly BlackBerry …read more »
